The Business Studies Teacher will plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons that develop students’ understanding of business concepts, analytical abilities, decision-making skills, and commercial awareness. The teacher will use relevant case studies, real-world examples, technology, and assessment strategies to prepare students effectively for IGCSE and A-Level examinations.
Key
Plan and deliver high-quality Business Studies lessons aligned with the relevant IGCSE and A-Level curriculum.
Teach business concepts, theories, principles, and applications using clear and engaging approaches.
Use real-world business examples, case studies, current developments, and practical scenarios to enhance learning.
Prepare students effectively for IGCSE and A-Level examinations.
Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments, presentations, case studies, and assessment resources.
Assess students regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback.
Monitor student performance and implement appropriate strategies to address learning gaps.
Develop students’ analytical, evaluative, quantitative, research, communication, and decision-making skills.
Encourage students to think critically about business decisions and their economic and social impact.
Integrate appropriate digital tools and technology into teaching and learning.
Support students in developing effective examination techniques and responding confidently to structured and extended-response questions.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessment results, progress, and academic performance.
Create a positive, respectful, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
Identify and support students with different learning needs and abilities.
Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen curriculum delivery and promote interdisciplinary learning.
Participate actively in departmental meetings, professional development programmes, school activities, and extracurricular initiatives.
Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development.
Follow the school’s academic, safeguarding, health and safety, and professional policies.
Contribute positively to the wider school community and uphold the values of Kay-Billie-Klaer International School.
Educational
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Studies, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Management, or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
A recognised teaching qualification or professional teacher certification is required or strongly preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of the Cambridge IGCSE and/or A-Level Business Studies curriculum is highly desirable.
A postgraduate qualification in Education, Business, Management, or a related field will be an advantage.
Previous experience teaching Business Studies at the IGCSE and/or A-Level level is strongly preferred.
