The Opportunity
As an Electrical Technician, you will help ensure that our electrical systems, equipment, appliances, fixtures, and cremation facilities operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.
You will work closely with internal teams and, where required, third-party contractors and suppliers to support electrical installations, maintenance, repairs, inspections, and other site-related technical activities.
Key
Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
Use appropriate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Perform routine maintenance on electrical equipment and identify when repairs or servicing are required.
Support the installation and commissioning of electrical equipment, including installations led by third-party suppliers.
Assist with testing electrical systems and equipment to confirm safe and reliable operation.
Repair or replace defective wiring, equipment, components, and fixtures as required.
Respond promptly to electrical faults and other technical issues affecting facility operations.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, faults, and potential safety risks.
Conduct basic troubleshooting and determine appropriate corrective action.
Assist with repairs and adjustments to ensure equipment operates within required standards.
Support compliance with applicable electrical, health, and safety
requirements.
Escalate complex technical faults or major repair
requirements to the appropriate supervisor or service provider.
Work with third-party contractors during electrical installation, servicing, and repair activities.
Assist with the safe operation of cremation equipment in accordance with established procedures.
Monitor cremation equipment and promptly report faults, unusual conditions, or performance concerns.
Support the routine inspection and maintenance of cremation equipment to ensure it remains in good working condition.
Assist with troubleshooting and coordinating repairs when cremation equipment requires technical attention.
Maintain accurate cremation equipment maintenance records and related files.
Handle all crematorium-related duties with professionalism, discretion, and respect.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and equipment servicing.
Prepare basic technical and maintenance reports as required.
Maintain relevant technical files, documentation, and service records.
Assist with identifying required materials, tools, spare parts, and equipment.
Support the preparation of preliminary cost estimates for materials and electrical services.
Submit maintenance and equipment concerns promptly to management.
Follow all electrical, occupational health, and workplace safety procedures.
Use personal protective equipment and appropriate safety tools when carrying out technical work.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
Identify and report electrical hazards and unsafe conditions immediately.
Handle tools, equipment, electrical components, and facility assets responsibly.
Support the organisation’s commitment to maintaining a safe environment for staff, visitors, and clients.
Attend to electrical and technical queries across the facility.
Respond to site-related technical duties and maintenance requests as assigned.
Support other facilities and maintenance activities when required.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external service providers to resolve technical issues efficiently.
Carry out additional duties reasonably assigned by management.
