About the Role

Richenfel Academy is seeking a passionate, innovative, and competent ICT Teacher to teach Information and Communication Technology at the Junior High School (JHS) level.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, practical, and curriculum-based ICT lessons that develop students’ digital literacy, problem-solving abilities, creativity, and computing skills in line with the GES Curriculum for Basic Schools.

The ICT Teacher will also oversee the effective use and management of the school’s ICT resources and support teachers and students in integrating technology into teaching and learning.

Key

Responsibilities

• •Teaching & Learning

Plan and deliver engaging ICT lessons in accordance with the GES curriculum.

Teach key ICT areas, including computer fundamentals, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, internet use, coding and Scratch, basic robotics, digital citizenship, and cyber safety.

Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson

notes, and relevant teaching and learning materials.

Conduct practical lessons in the computer laboratory and provide students with meaningful hands-on experience.

Use technology, multimedia resources, demonstrations, and real-world examples to make lessons practical and engaging.

Prepare students effectively for ICT-related assessments, including the BECE.

Encourage students to explore technology creatively and apply their knowledge to real-life problems.

• •Student Assessment & Development

Design and administer quizzes, assignments, practical exercises, tests, and examinations.

Mark and record students’ work accurately and provide timely, constructive feedback.

Monitor and track individual student progress and adjust teaching strategies where necessary.

Identify students with exceptional ICT abilities and provide opportunities for them to develop their talents.

Encourage and prepare talented students for relevant coding, robotics, technology, and academic competitions.

Promote creativity, critical thinking, discipline, collaboration, and responsible use of technology.

Support learners who require additional guidance to improve their ICT skills.

• •Classroom Management

Create a positive, respectful, engaging, and well-organized learning environment.

Maintain appropriate classroom discipline and encourage active student participation.

Establish clear expectations for responsible and safe use of computers and other digital devices.

Build positive relationships with students while maintaining professional boundaries.

Encourage teamwork, creativity, curiosity, and independent learning.

• •ICT Laboratory & Resource Management

Manage and maintain the school’s ICT laboratory and related facilities.

Monitor the condition and proper use of computers, projectors, networking equipment, and other ICT resources.

Ensure the security and responsible use of ICT equipment by students and staff.

Conduct basic troubleshooting and resolve minor technical issues where possible.

Maintain an accurate inventory of ICT equipment and resources.

Report technical faults, damaged equipment, and maintenance needs promptly to management.

Promote good laboratory practices and ensure that students follow ICT safety guidelines.

• •School-Wide ICT Support

Support teachers in integrating technology into their teaching and learning activities.

Assist staff and students with basic digital skills when required.

Provide guidance on the effective use of educational technology platforms and digital resources.

Support the school in implementing technology-based teaching and learning initiatives.

Serve as the school’s ICT Coordinator and support the effective use of technology across the Academy.

Participate actively in school programmes, meetings, PTA activities, clubs, and extracurricular activities.

Carry out other ICT-related

responsibilities assigned by school management.

Educational & Professional

Requirements

Diploma in Education with an ICT option, Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education with ICT, or another relevant qualification.

Relevant teaching qualification and a valid NTC licence are required.

1–3 years of teaching experience at the basic-school level is preferred; however, qualified entry-level candidates with strong ICT and teaching capabilities are encouraged to apply.

Demonstrated ability to teach ICT concepts in a practical, engaging, and age-appropriate manner.
