About the Role

The Procurement & Sourcing Officer will manage the procurement cycle from supplier identification and evaluation through purchase order placement, shipment tracking, delivery, and supplier performance review.

The role will focus on sourcing kitchen appliances, perfumes, stationery, and related consumer goods from local and international markets while ensuring competitive pricing, reliable supply, quality standards, and timely delivery.

Responsibilities

• •Supplier Sourcing & Evaluation

Identify and research potential local and international suppliers of kitchen appliances, perfumes, stationery, and related consumer goods.

Evaluate suppliers based on pricing, product quality, production capacity, reliability, delivery timelines, and commercial terms.

Conduct supplier due diligence and support the onboarding of approved suppliers.

Maintain an up-to-date database of approved, active, and potential suppliers.

Develop alternative supplier options to reduce procurement and supply-chain risks.

Compare supplier capabilities and recommend suitable sourcing options to management.

• •Procurement & Purchase Order Management

Prepare and issue purchase orders in line with approved procurement

requirements.

Ensure purchase orders accurately capture product specifications, quantities, prices, delivery terms, and agreed commercial conditions.

Track purchase orders from placement through shipment and final delivery.

Follow up with suppliers to ensure orders meet agreed delivery timelines.

Coordinate internally to confirm procurement

requirements and approvals.

Maintain complete and accurate procurement records and documentation.

Monitor outstanding purchase orders and promptly escalate potential delays.

• •Price & Contract Negotiation

Negotiate competitive prices with suppliers while maintaining required product quality.

Negotiate favourable payment, credit, delivery, and other commercial terms where applicable.

Review supplier quotations and conduct detailed price comparisons before making procurement recommendations.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve purchasing efficiency.

Support the negotiation and review of supplier agreements and commercial arrangements.

Monitor market prices to ensure the company remains commercially competitive.

• •Import & Logistics Coordination

Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, clearing agents, and relevant internal teams on imported goods.

Calculate and review shipping and related import costs to support accurate purchasing decisions.

Ensure the availability and accuracy of import, shipping, and customs documentation.

Monitor shipment schedules and provide timely updates on expected delivery dates.

Support customs-clearance activities and help resolve documentation or shipment-related issues.

Track imported goods from supplier dispatch through arrival, clearance, and final delivery.

Identify potential logistics delays and coordinate corrective actions promptly.

• •Supplier Relationship Management

Build and maintain professional relationships with local and international suppliers and strategic sourcing partners.

Communicate procurement

requirements, product specifications, quality standards, and delivery expectations clearly.

Address supplier-related issues and work collaboratively to resolve delays, quality concerns, discrepancies, and other challenges.

Maintain consistent and professional communication with suppliers.

Support long-term supplier partnerships that deliver value, reliability, and quality.

• •Supplier Performance Management

Monitor supplier performance against agreed service levels and procurement

requirements.

Maintain and regularly update supplier performance scorecards.

Evaluate suppliers based on price competitiveness, product quality, delivery reliability, responsiveness, and compliance.

Identify recurring supplier performance issues and recommend corrective actions.

Recommend alternative suppliers where existing supplier performance falls below expectations.

Provide regular supplier-performance updates to management.

• •Market & Procurement Research

Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, products, pricing trends, and sourcing opportunities.

Monitor changes in supplier pricing, availability, demand, and market conditions.

Research alternative products and sourcing markets that offer better value.

Identify emerging procurement opportunities and potential supply-chain risks.

Provide procurement insights and recommendations to management to support informed purchasing decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate should have

A Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

3–5 years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supply-chain operations.

Experience sourcing or procuring imported consumer goods will be an advantage.

Practical experience working with local and international suppliers.

Demonstrated experience managing purchase orders, supplier negotiations, shipment tracking, and procurement documentation.

Knowledge of import procedures, customs clearance, and freight-forwarding processes will be an advantage.

Experience using procurement or inventory-management systems will be an advantage.
