Position Overview
As a Transport Officer, you will coordinate and oversee the company’s transportation activities to ensure that personnel, vehicles, and other operational resources move safely and efficiently. You will monitor vehicle operations, coordinate drivers, maintain accurate records, and ensure that transport activities support the company’s security operations.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organisational skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage transportation activities in a fast-paced security environment.
Key
Coordinate the daily movement and deployment of company vehicles and personnel.
Plan and manage transport schedules to support security operations and client
requirements.
Assign vehicles and drivers based on operational needs.
Monitor vehicle movements and ensure drivers follow approved schedules and routes.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle assignments, trips, mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance.
Conduct regular checks on vehicle availability, roadworthiness, and operational condition.
Coordinate vehicle servicing, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
Monitor fuel consumption and identify unusual or excessive usage.
Ensure drivers comply with company policies, road safety regulations, and operational procedures.
Address transportation-related incidents, delays, breakdowns, and emergencies promptly.
Maintain accurate documentation relating to vehicles, drivers, licences, insurance, and statutory
requirements.
Work closely with security and operations teams to coordinate transportation
requirements.
Monitor driver performance and promote safe, responsible, and professional driving practices.
Prepare regular transport reports for management.
Identify opportunities to improve transportation efficiency and control operating costs.
Ensure company vehicles remain clean, secure, and fit for purpose.
Perform other transport and operational duties assigned by management.
Educational & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in transport coordination, fleet management, logistics, security operations, or a related field.
Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle and fleet management practices.
Good understanding of road safety regulations and transport procedures.
Strong administrative and record-keeping skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
A valid driver’s licence is an advantage.
